If you ​find kittens, don't remove them until you're certain the mother isn't around or will not return, or they're old enough to be independent and eating solid foods on their own. Their best chance of survival is to remain with their mother until they're eating solid foods. If necessary or when you're ready to TNR the mom cat, you can use the kittens to lure her into the trap:
